Innomate HR is a robust human-resources platform that enables organisations to manage their end-to-end HR processes. Recruiting and retaining motivated software engineers was difficult in Denmark’s competitive employment market, so Innomate sought a reliable software development provider. The collaboration evolved from a pilot project to running a dedicated development team for nearly 13 years. It is one of Wirtek’s longest collaborations and has fostered some of the strongest team connections.
Challenge
Finding and retaining the right talent was difficult; recruiting was time-consuming. Innomate sought to improve its software development framework and considered working with an experienced provider. A previous outsourcing collaboration had failed due to poor integration with the in-house team.
Solution
The collaboration began with a pilot project to test Wirtek’s capabilities; the first project delivered was an automated testing framework. After its success, Innomate committed to a long-term partnership and created a dedicated Wirtek team for development and testing. Wirtek advised Innomate on adopting an Agile framework; together they implemented the first Scrum sprint and refined the process over time.
Results
Key achievements include migrating the platform from version 2 to version 3 and implementing Scrum. A distributed development team works remotely across Denmark, Sweden, Kenya and Romania, requiring close communication via daily Scrum meetings, weekly QA and UI meetings and regular walk-through sessions. Annual visits to Cluj foster personal connections and cultural exchange. Knowledge sharing through pair programming and study groups is important. Wirtek believes great interpersonal relationships underpin successful business partnerships; close relationships, technical skills and flexibility are cited as reasons for the long-term collaboration.
